Redstone specializes in high performance Joule-Thomson
(J-T) cryocoolers. Applications include space and tactical systems, sensor testing and laboratory use. We have single-stage and multi-stage cold heads operating at 10K, 35K, 80K, and 120K using helium, neon and nitrogen. Our patented "Redstone Interface" provides:

  • Precise temperature control even for rapidly changing heat loads
  • Uniform temperature over large area
  • Vibration-free cooling at the sensor
  • Large separation between cooler and sensor
  • Cooling to multiple locations
  • Single or dual stage cooling
  • Effective cooling for high-density heat loads
  • Across-gimbal cooling to multiple payloads

Redstone provides high-performance standard and custom cryostats.

  • Our standard laboratory cryostat holds 20 liters of liquid helium and includes a vapor cooled shield that can be used to provide a second stage of useful cooling
  • Custom designs have ranged from a 70 liter LHe cryostat for a single sensor to an 8’ tall, 1000 liter LHe cryostat having seven telescope bays. Each was designed to meet stringent thermal performance, weight and vibration requirement
